Wedding In Progress

I dont even know where to begin with this which is why its been blank since I set it up. I guess I can start with the proposal and go from there ... (i mean I do have a year and a half to do this)

December 27 2010
Mikey offered to give Peyton a bath (I should have known something was wrong at that point!)
When he was done he brought her downstairs and into the kitchen.
He called me in
He said P go see mommy
She walked over to me and I read her shirt "mommy will you marry daddy?" that he had made
Mikey got on his knee and asked me to marry him
I said yes (obviously)
It wasn't some elaborate show it was just him me and our daughter and it was perfect

(this picture does NOT do it justice)
My ring is the ring that his great grandmother gave him to give to give to the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with
When you are a little girl (and even more so when you are a big girl) you have a picture of the ring you want on your finger.
This wasn't anything like that ring (the one I had magazine clippings of stuffed in his wallet)
And I am SO glad he didnt listen to me
Not only is this ring absolutely gorgeous but it is a family heirloom and vintage which makes it even more special
Kuddos to Mikey for a job well done

Inspiration

The colors we are going with are baby barf green and golden yellow... doesn't that sound amazing?!

No but really it might sound ugly but they look fabulous together and baby barf green is my all time favorite color. Some may call it olive but I see baby barf... could have something to do with being a mom.

Our theme is rustic cottage.
I love white birch

and are these not the cutest rustic table numbers?

Etsy is not only a great place to buy uber cute things but it is a great place to get DIY inspiration.
I have a pretty crafty family so we will be making a lot of DIY things for the big day and I love love looking at Etsy for ideas.

The Venue

This is our #1 choice for a venue so far It is a little Inn in Maryland near Sugarloaf Mountain.

Welcome to the Comus Inn I know its more barnish/country from the front but I'll take it

Here we have the cocktail area and more importantly the bar. The tables will be cleared out except for a few in which people can sit during cocktail hour. The wood floor is for the gift table and cake. The whole wall is lined with glass doors that will be opened up to the patio and tent.

This is the view from the doors out to the tent/patio. It is HUGE. Here is where dinner will be served and grooving will take place. There is also a nice fish pond that my child will with out a doubt find her way submerged in by the end of the night. It will be tented but no walls so it will still be open and outdoorsy

cute tree and pretty view. This is the backdrop for most of the weddings the woman told us. Its really pretty but I feel in love with another backdrop and the seller of the whole place for me at least...

The barn LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!!! This is what I want the back drop to be for the ceremony. It is so rustic and perfect. I have no doubt it will be even more gorgeous in the summer/early fall

Yeah so that is venue #1 and I think it might be the venue. I don't really have any others in mind right now. I'm going to do a quick draft proposal with momma to see if it is in budget and we will go from there.

Bridesmaid Dresses

I have been thinking about bridesmaid dresses a lot lately since I already have my dress. Originally I was just going to go with one dress. them I thought maybe pick a color and fabric and find a line that carried it in different styles. Then I was throwing around the idea of just giving them a color scheme and style and letting them pick out their own. The more I thought about it the more I loved the idea.

I sent them all an email today with some sample dresses and some guidelines.

Hurrr is the email

Hey ladies
So iv been running a few ideas for BM dresses through my head and I think iv settled on having you all wear different dresses in the same color scheme with similar style. Here are just a few that I have collected that I really like they are all from Modcloth.com if you wanna look at them in different views or up close. They may not be your cup o tea but guess what ITS MY WEDDING GET OVER IT BRIDEZILLA RAWWRRR just kidding.. kinda :)
But like I said these are just a few ideas I mean not all of these are even available right now on the site and who knows if they will ever be back in stock. So I would like you to feel free to go out looking for your own dresses too and send me pictures of ones you like that fit in with this scheme.
Things Im looking for

Shades of green

Shades of yellow

Shades of cream

Old lady flower print

Vintage styles

Any length

It can have other patterns not just old lady flower just as long as it fits in with the other dresses

It can be solid too I dont really care

Remember it's a wedding people so try to look for something somewhat fancy/wedding appropriate nothing to cheap ( but this doesnt mean you have to spend $10000000)

Places that might be a good place to look

Im super excited for them to all get their dresses and to see what they all look like together!

Photography

I'm excited to say I have my photographer, well sort of. I still need to officially book her but since I dont have an exact date and venue yet I can't book her til I do. BUT we have already been in contact and I will change my wedding date for her if she doesnt have it open
Her name is Katie Stoops and she is AMAZING! She did my sisters wedding and her pictures take my breath away. She captured every moment perfectly and she is so creative, sweet, and has a great sense of humor!
You can visit her site at Open Air Photography .
She is based in the Virginia area but travels everywhere so if you have a wedding coming up I would HIGHLY recommend her!

Here are some picture of my sister wedding

Yes that very 8 month preggo girl would be me

By the way mom momma did all the flowers, the stage, and pretty much everything. She is A-MAZ-ING the most talented florist and interior decorator I know.. seriously. She even had a wedding in 'The Knot' mmhumm yeah she's wonderful.

Need a florist and you are in the DC, MD, VA area? let me know.. seriously!

Im so excited because Iv been trying to plan/vision/decide on the engagement shoot since, well, we got engaged. That was in December! Now that the wedding is officially less than a year away (whhaaattt?!) I FINALLY brainstormed the perfect idea and I CANT WAIT (I said that in my head in all caps. Thats how excited i am). I'm not going to give specifics because I still want it to be some sort a surprise but I made this little collage (quickly and roughly I might add) so you could maybe get an idea, sort of  sneak peek. My friend Lucy from high school started her own photography business called Hyde&Seek and I'm so excited that she is taking them for us. I love supporting small businesses and friends all in the same. We haven't set an official date but it will either be  end of September beginning of October so look out for more updates! giddyness ensues
