HEY YOU GUYZ!!!!! Im SO SO sososososo SO excited to let you in on this little HUGE detail of our wedding. We booked our photographer. It's official. And kinda a big deal.

I had originally had my heart set on my sisters photographer. I loved her work and her in general but she has since upped her prices and sadly become out of our reach. But really not so sadly at all because it forced me to go looking for another photographer. I had one in mind in that Iv been slightly obsessed with their work for a while now but I feared they were out of our price range as well and to add to it they are out of state so in my mind that was never going to work out. But all that aside I still decided to get an estimate. THANK GAWD. Not to say they aren't costing a pretty penny but in my opinion they are totally reasonable and they INCLUDE travel fees. Yeah. They rock. Also I know it will be SO worth it to have my day documented in a style I love. This is forever people.

So I talked to out with Mikey and my mother, who is helping foot the bill, and we decided that, yes this was going to happen.

There was some paper signing, check sending and ten just like that WE HAVE A PHOTOGRAPHER!!!!!!!!!!!!

The best part of all this? Sarah. She is amazing. I only wish we lived closer so that we could be friends IRL. She took my skype V-card soon after it became official and we talked wedding, family, life, everything. She is genuinely interested in getting to know her clients and I love that so much about her. I feel like i have already made a great new friend and Im so thankful for that and so so So excited to meet her (and hopefully her other half) come September!

3 Engagement Pictures: Check!

Mikey and I have been talking baout getting our engagement pictures done for freaking ever. We have been engaged a little over a year and each time we plan to do them something comes up. Or we arent financially in the right place. Blah blah blah. Well we finally set a date with our photographer, and one of my friends from high school, Lucy, to do them yesterday. If you remember this post we had plans to take them apple picking in September/ October. But like I said things didnt work out so we missed out on the appleness seasons and had to work with what we had in the dead of winter.

Here is a little blurb about how yesterday went:

Do you remember this dress? The second I set eyes on it in the Free People store I fell madly and deeply in love. She was like the Ryan Gosling of pretty dresses and she spoke to me. It went something like 'Hey girl, I think id look really good on you and you should wear me during your engagement shoot.' Done. I knew from that moment that I had to have it. So my honey buns bought it for me and then I was all giddy and eeeepppping and what not. This was the dress I was wearing for our engagement pictres, if we ever got them done.

Fast forward 3ish months later

We woke up bright and early yesterday to shower and get beautiful and all that jazz.

I dropped my dress off at the dry cleaners Friday and it was going to be ready Saturday by 5. I had to work Saturday night though so Mikey said he would pick it up for me in the morning.
Are you guys getting a feeling something bad is about to happen? If you are then you are so right.
Mikey walked through the front door and said to me 'is there anything else you can wear?' extreme panic ensued

'no why?'

'because they are closed for the day'

annnnnnd que the water works.

I was DEVISTATED. I mean I dont even think that word does it justice. That was my dress the dress. It talked to me people! And now I had nothing to wear and we were supposed to meet Lucy in an hour. I couldnt cancel, we had already switched dates so much and Mikey and I have a busy few upcoming weekends so who really knew when we would be able to do them again. I texted Lucy to see if we could push it back to 12 and we rushed to the mall.

I thought the stores opened at 10, but no it's 11 on Sundays. Of course.
We got Starbucks and then rushed up to Free People as soon as they opened their doors. I told the girls working my drama and they were the sweetest most helpful people ever. I tried on a few dresses all of which were cute but none that talked to me. Then I tried a light pink dress on with a lace back. It was really pretty, I felt good in it. I was running out of time so this was going to have to be the one. We bought it and raced next door to VS to grab some sticky boobs and I went to the dressing room and changed and we were on our way.

We pulled up to the venue where we were planning on taking the pictures and Lucy walked over. She thought the website said 12 but they didnt open till 2. Of course. So we walked around Georgetown and found another little park to take some pictures for a few hours. When 2 oclock came we headed back to Dumbarton Oaks and finished the shoot taking some pictures there. It was really pretty, even in winter. And Peyton had a blast. She was a very good sport the whole time.

Insert deep sigh of relief.

It was a long and crazy day. The fates were set on us not taking these pictures but we persued. Im so excited to see how they turned out and as soon as I get them I will share them with you!

1 Engagement Photo shoot

Im so excited because Iv been trying to plan/vision/decide on the engagement shoot since, well, we got engaged. That was in December! Now that the wedding is officially less than a year away (whhaaattt?!) I FINALLY brainstormed the perfect idea and I CANT WAIT (I said that in my head in all caps. Thats how excited i am). I'm not going to give specifics because I still want it to be some sort a surprise but I made this little collage (quickly and roughly I might add) so you could maybe get an idea, sort of  sneak peek. My friend Lucy from high school started her own photography business called Hyde&Seek and I'm so excited that she is taking them for us. I love supporting small businesses and friends all in the same. We haven't set an official date but it will either be  end of September beginning of October so look out for more updates! giddyness ensues 

0 YIPPY! Hooray!

Mikey started his new job today. I can't tell you what it is because it's top secret and they may come for me.
No really though it specifically says in his giant packet that he got today that you are not allowed to blog about it bahaha. It's really not that cool so I don't know why you would want to blog about it anyway.
But I'm really excited for him and us and hopefully we will be able to get the heck out of here soon (sorry mom and dad you know I love you!)

In baby news~

I think Peanut may be getting sick (thanks to Uncle Jeremy) she has a little bitty cough :( poor buggy I hope it doesnt get worse

In wedding news~

I'm excited to say I have my photographer, well sort of. I still need to officially book her but since I dont have an exact date and venue yet I can't book her til I do. BUT we have already been in contact and I will change my wedding date for her if she doesnt have it open
Her name is Katie Stoops and she is AMAZING! She did my sisters wedding and her pictures take my breath away. She captured every moment perfectly and she is so creative, sweet, and has a great sense of humor!

By the way mom momma did all the flowers, the stage, and pretty much everything. She is A-MAZ-ING the most talented florist and interior decorator I know.. seriously. She even had a wedding in 'The Knot' mmhumm yeah she's wonderful.

Kris and I went to GNC today to buy our protein bars and powder today yummm! HA! We are officially starting Friday don don don...
